Bratislava festival honors Iranian director, actors

Iranian filmmaker Ida Panahandeh as well as actors Navid Mohammadzadeh, Niki Karimi and Sahar Ahmadpur received awards at the 17th Bratislava International Film Festival, which was held in the Slovakian city from November 12 to 17. Panahandeh received best director award for his social drama "Nahid", which is about a woman who is faced with a dilemma of choosing between her son and remarriage. The best actor award went to Mohammadzadeh for his role in the movie, which won Prix de l'Avenir -- the special jury prize for debut films at the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival in May of this year.
