Counter-terrorism should not be a synonym for human rights abuse

Proposals to "monitor every Muslim", forwarded by Robert Fico, Slovakian Prime Minister, will only fuel tensions and make radicalisation more likely. As the world continues the fight against terrorism, the powers-that-be have to include civil society in their decision-making process, so that efficient and fair policies can be formulated, writes Claire Fernandez.
